Differences between using QBXML API and QBFC API in QuickBook

Hi,

I am exploring the way to programatically query, insert, update and delete in QuickBook using APIs provided, but I am not sure about the differences between using QBXML API and QBFC API in term of performance, etc. I would appreciate if anyone can enlighten me on this.
