import transactions error

QB 2006 Preimere Trying to import customers (just exported) into a new file and after if brings in 21 entires it complains "Cannot Import. Not enought disk space or too many records exist." There is 60+Gb free, so that isn't it. And too many records it shouldn't be coming out of QB! (Unless .IIF's have a lower limit than the program.)

.IIF below. I dropped several lines (periods) but it the last line it accepts is just before the last line.

Tis is very odd, but using IIF files, can be very flakey until you figure out where the problem is. Since you exported the file directly out of QB and are trying to import that same file, it is doubly odd.

Given the error message, I would make the assumption that QB can only handle so many records on an import file. Take a look at the last customer imported, then go into the file and delete all of those already imported, and try again.

Another option is to remove the customer on line 22 and see if that works, Or break the file up into multiple import files, skipping line 22 just for the heck of it.

The other aspect may be the file you are trying to import into. There is a limit of 14,500 names in QuickBooks. I'm not sure if that is a summary of COA, items, customer, vendors, etc. But that may be an issue. But since you said this is a new file, that is probably not the case.

After that, I'm not sure

The message 'not enough disk space' usually means your list is 'full'. In other words, you've reached the max capacity of the names/ customer list, which I think is 14,000 names, or 14,500 names. Steuart
