If you are creating a new Item, the fields for quantity and value on hand are on the last line of the New Item window.

For an existing Item, use the Inventory Adjustment transaction.

Sorry, no, I use the Accountant (Canadian) edition. Nor do I know anyone using the Manufacturing edition.

I am trying to import the opening quantity and value into Quickbook; and the quantity and value are being ignored. Below is my sample:

!HDR PROD VER REL IIFVER DATE TIME ACCNTNT ACCNTNTSPLITTIME HDR QuickBooks Pro for Windows Version 9.0D Release R6P 1 01/01/2000 12:00 AM N 0 !CUSTITEMDICT INDEX LABEL INUSE !ENDCUSTITEMDICT CUSTITEMDICT 0 N CUSTITEMDICT 1 N CUSTITEMDICT 2 N CUSTITEMDICT 3 N CUSTITEMDICT 4 N ENDCUSTITEMDICT

!INVITEM NAME INVITEMTYPE DESC PURCHASEDESC ACCNT ASSETACCNT COGSACCNT QNTY QNTY INVITEM Test1 INVENTORY Test1 Test1 Acct1 Misc.Income COSG 150.123 5000 INVITEM Test2 INVENTORY Test2 Test2 Acct1 Misc.Income COSG 1200.789 10000

The last two columns are both headed as "Qnty". I copied that by manually creating the items with the quantity and value in QB; then export it from QB [ I'll name it ON_Hand.iif ].

In fact, when I deleted the manually created items and reimport the items from ON_Hand.iif, the quantity and value do not come through.

Is there a way to import the Item List WITH the Quantity and Value?

TIA
