I recently added a few new numbered accounts (QB 2002). Although sorted by number in the chart of accounts, they are at the top of their sections or subaccount group on P&L statements, instead of in numerical order. Is there any way to fix this? It just doesn't look right to have little-used accounts above the major accounts.

What is the sort order of the report?

With the COA open select at the bottom of the screed: Account>>Resort List. This should put into the correct sort order you are looking for.

It does not matter what the sort order of the report was. He's talking about the order on the Chart of accounts. All that was necessary is to use the re-sort option under Accounts. Then the sort order on the reports should fix itself.
From time to time I actually lapse into my help mode. This was one of those times. You should know better than to tug on Superman's cape. Having the wrong sort could have been the reason lowers values were showing up at the top. Why not display a P&L and change the sort order from "default" to "total" and get back to us with your findings.
