What, exactly, is going to happen to my Quicken 2002 on that day?
Will my bank stop sending data in a certain format?
Will Quicken 2002 "expire" or stop working?
What the hell is going on?
Thanks, User

This is from the Intuits web page on the sunset policy,
As of April 19th, 2005, in accordance with the Quicken sunset policy, Online Services1 and Live Technical Support2 will no longer be available for Quicken 2001 and 2002 users. These services include online bill pay; downloading financial data from your bank, credit union, credit card, brokerage, 401(k) or mutual fund accounts; downloading stock quotes, news headlines and other financial information into Quicken; uploading portfolio information from Quicken to Quicken.com; and access to the investing features on Quicken.com including portfolio tracking, any watch lists you have created, One-Click Scorecard?, Stock Evaluator and Mutual Fund Evaluator. To continue using these services and maintain access to live technical support from an Intuit representative, you will need to upgrade.
1Online Services require Internet access, vary by participating financial institutions, and may be subject to additional terms, conditions, and fees. 2Live technical support for Quicken 2001 was discontinued on January 1, 2004.I am no expert but interpret this mean Direct and Web Connect will quit functoning, along with downloading stock prices/news, credit card data, and so on and on and on.
I always enter transactions manually anyway. That is the only way to know if you're getting ripped off.
My banks web sites will have to suffice for comparison to my Quicken register.
What I don't understand is why they just can't use both methods. If the OFX method is so much better, it would surely supplant the older technology in time without having to f*ck with peoples lives.
What a crok.
