Bizarre Results: Account Balances/Portfolio Value show securities I no longer own

Feb 16, 2011 0 Replies

I recently got quotes for my investment account balances for the last

5 years. The quote for 12/31/10 was incorrect—it includes a balance for Fidelity Contrafund that I sold some years ago. Since then, I again purchased Contrafund (using a slightly different name), and this is shown correctly. I had a similar result for a Vanguard fund that I sold and later repurchased.

I had identical “bottom line” results using “Portfolio Value” (although there I had some other sold funds with identical positive and negative balances).

In both cases I “customized” so that all securities and accounts were checked.

What in the world did I do wrong to explain this result; or is Quicken (2009) just fatally flawed?
