cap gains - new gauntlet for 1099-B

Was just walking thru my usual entries....

I wanted to add a sale for some stock - recent long term sale - I could not find an easy way to just enter the basic info.....

- can't enter directly on Sched D

- can't open the 8949 form directly

- there are some "worksheets" but seems overkill to just enter the couple of data points like - date acquired - cost basis - date sold - sold amount

SO - what are the steps to quickly enter a single or series of short or long term stock sales ?

Drove me absolutely nuts yesterday too! Ashamed to admit I finally did something I've NEVER done before - used that portion of the interview!

just did the same thing - went back and did the Step by Step and then... Fed Taxes -> Wages & Income -> Investment Income -> 1099-B Stocks....

Thanks, I'll try that, I probably was the digital "guy right behind you" in your quest through that gauntlet. I set my extremely simple, two transaction 1099-B to the side for a day and went outside in the 12° sunshine to split some wood. Figured I'd get some inspiration and hit it again today. With all the other 1099-x forms easy to access and use, why would TT make the 1099-B a Myst adventure to find and use?
