Deleting imports

quicken 2003:

I imported about 200 transactions from qif into an account, but I imported the wrong data. The transactions are still sitting in the import window and won't go away. I want to delete all the pending transactions. There seems to be no other way to delete the import transactions than one by one with the editor. This is way beyond my tolerance for stress.

Any shortcuts to do this?

To clear the pending transaction imports, I tried exporting the account to qif, then importing the transactions into a new account. The new account has a balance off by $11K. Same records, but a new balance, very counter-intuitive.

Yes, revert to the backup you made before downloading.

If you take a methodical approach, this should not be difficult to solve.

One approach: Compare the transactions in the two accounts, looking for transactions whose net amount is the difference between the two balances. Start by comparing the number of transactions, as reported in the Account List, to see if all transactions got imported. If the number of transactions is the same, divide them up (in a transaction report) and compare the deposits in one account to the deposits in the other account ... then the payments in each account. You could also create transaction reports that subtotal by month, and look for differences in each month between the two accounts. (You can Customize the reports to show "Totals Only" to start, then when you see differences between the two reports at the total level, expand the report to show the individual transactions.)
