"Find Payment or Deposit" results box too large for visible screen

I noticed (Q 2011 D, XP) that (I think) one of the last updates to Q (although this might not have had anything to do with this) seemed to 'break' the results box returned from the "Find Payment or Deposit" box. This is the box on the upper right hand side of the screen.

The daughter window that is returned is too large for my screen in that the top of the box that contains the handle to drag/drop as well as the minimize/"X" ICONs goes above the top of my monitor. This is the only window in Q that this happens with I noticed. The only way I Can get rid of the window is to actually 'edit' a transaction and the kill that one; the results window goes away at that point.

Anyone else see this or know how to 'fix' it? Strange.

Higher resolution and/or larger monitor is the only way I know to get that window to a usable size. I have 1280x1024 on a 17" screen and the Search Results window is completely visible on my laptop.

ALT+F4 will close it.

Find & Replace produces a somewhat smaller window, which can be resized.

Bless you! (Appropriate in this time of year, huh?). ALT+F4 works great. I didn't realize that was available in general, but I see after your post (Thank you!) this closes most windows/apps.

1024x768 is my setting that I find the most readible for my old eyes; I did reduce it to 1280x1024 and you're right, the window was fine there, but really much too small font for me to read comfortably.

Yep, althought I know that the Find+Replace also provides a similar function, I like to simply pop to that upper right box to do a quick search. I use it quite often.

Do you know what might have changed in Q (I don't think anything else on my XP machine changed) to make this behavior work like it does?

Again, thanks for the tip!

I'm pretty sure Intuit is aware of the problem - it's been discussed fairly extensively in the Live Community - and Intuit has not said that it was intentional (as they did for the, now, absent "est" for "missing" security prices). So I'm thinking that it was a simple oversight, and that subsequent releases/versions will make it sizeable again.
