Find using 2 criterias

Hi,

Is it possible to use the Find function by searching on 2 categories? or even 3 categoris?

For example, I would like to search for all items in Medical: Medical Expense between Jan 1, 2005 and Today's Date?

Also, is it possible to do a search like this: Search for all items in Medical: Medical Expense between Jan 1, 2005 and Today's Date in the chequing account?

This would be useful (at least for me) when trying to get a report out so that I can fill in my income taxes.

Thanks for your time.

No, you can search on only one Quicken field. You will have to cull the results by only marking the found transactions that fall within, what would have been, your other search criteria. To try to minimize the number of transactions to be visually searched, attempt to guess which of your search criteria will produce the fewest hits and use that for the "find".

Can you use "Find" to search on multiple criteria? No.

But why are you asking about "Find" when what you want are reports?

Can you specify several categories and a date range for a report? YES. I use an old verion of Quicken; someone with a more current version will have to provide detail help if you need it.

I just can't resist. One "criterium", many "criteria" or "criteriums"

Facts from m-w.com: criteria is the plural. criterion is the singular. (See

&y) Guesses from me: "criterium" is a bicycle race and I'm not sure has anything to do with the discussion! And 'criteriums' is adding an English plural modifier to a Latin singular which I also don't think is correct either! But far be it from me to correct anyone's English, as noted, just my opinion on this sentence.

Mike - don't sweat it. I had no idea of what was correct or not when I read your original post, but it seemed fun for me to do the research! I certainly wouldn't let it bother you!
