Investing report that includes total shares held by date

I made a different (poorly stated) request yesterday, and received no reply. But my needs are urgent. The essence of what I'm looking for is a report for a security that shows all transactions, sorted by date, that includes the resulting shares of that security that are held as a result of each transaction. Something like

Date..........Transaction.....Security.....Account.....Shares.....Shares Held

01/01/10...Bought.............ATT............Schwab.....100............100 03/31/10...Divid Reinv.....ATT............Schwab..........2............102 06/30/10...Divid Reinv.....ATT............Schwab..........1............103 08/15/10...Bought.............ATT............Schwab......100............203 09/30/10...Div Reinv.........ATT...........Schwab...........4............207 12/31/10...Bought..............ATT...........Schwab.........50............257 12/31/10...Div Reinv.........ATT...........Schwab...........4.............261 2/15/11.....Transfer............ATT...........Vanguard....261.............261 3/15/11.....Sold..................ATT............Vanguard......50.............211 03/31/11...Divid

Reinv.....ATT............Vanguard........2.............213

06/30/11...Divid Reinv.....ATT............Vanguard........1.............214

would do. It's pretty easy to get all the other data, but cumulative shares held eludes me.

Thanks in advance for any help you might be able to offer.

In Q2011 look at: Portfolio - Click on a specific stock's NAME this opens "Security Detail View" - OR - click on View - Classic Menus then Investing - Investing Tools - Security Detail View select your stock

- THEN - click on "Report" on top right export to Excel and then add column with formula for cumulative shares.

THANK YOU! I had heard about using Excel for enhancing reports but had never trried it. Your instructions were very clear.

OTOH, it was time consuming. And for no logical reason. Don't you think Intuit might have included Share Balance as one of their variables for report output?

Running totals aren't a strength of Quicken reports. I usually get the report into Excel, add a column for the running total then use a formula for each cell that adds the running total from the previous row to the desired value from the current row.
