Network Q Deluxe 2009?

I realize this is not recommended but... I have Quicken Deluxe 2009 and two home computers linked together on a wireless network. If both computers have Quicken installed on them it there any reason they cannot share the same data file? Again, I know Quicken does not recommend it... but will it work?

Thanks in advance... Bob

I had difficulty with it. I decided that it wasn't worth the effort for me.

My experience was that you could share the file by mapping the directory as a drive. Otherwise, it won't be found by Quicken on the next invocation. I just mounted it as a "Q:" drive. The file could only be opened by one computer at a time, as a sharing violation prevented the second computer from accessing it.

When accessing the data from the remote computer, I had regular warnings from Windows about unwritten data. I didn't have any file corruption, but I decided that is wasn't safe enough for me.

Your mileage may vary.
