*.NPC files

What is the purpose of the .NPC file? It seems to go along with the dataset, but never seems to be updated and contains zero bytes.All help gratefully received.formerprof

Sometimes it is the very existence of a file that is important. I believe Mozilla uses parent.lock in the user profile this way.

"I upgrade every year, and it's been a long time since I recall seeing a .NPC file."

I also have them with my Q2005 file sets. If you open the file with Notepad, you'll see a list of vendors (credit cards and banks etc.) and what appears to be a vendor number along with "Centralized Billing" and "Pay On-line" repeated over and over. I think it belongs to Quicken Bill Pay.
