How to correct reconciliation error with a linked security account?

Jan 06, 2006 4 Replies

I was reconciling a brokerage account and marked as reconciled security transactions that had not settled in December. How can I fix it or undo the entire reconcile and start over?

Thanks, Shorty

You don't say what version of Quicken you are using.

And your question, combined with your "Subject" is a bit confusing. Is this an investment account with a linked cash account? If not, what is the significance of the "linked security account" in the Subject? Is the transaction in question in the investment account or the cash account?

I am using Deluxe 2006. It is an linked investment account. I am trying to balance the cash portion and made an error that indicated the transaction had cleared. Since the transaction was at the end of the month it had not cleared. The portfolio side is correct. I suppose I can delete both the portfolio side and then the cash side and reenter the transaction in the portfolio screen.

Thank you, Hank

It is the deluxe 2006. It is a linked investment account. The transactions were downloaded to the portfolio account and the offset went to the cash portion. Unfortunately I marked the cash portion as cleared. I suppose I can delete the portfolio portion, then the cash postion and then reenter the whole thing.
