My data fileset has included data back through 01/01/2004 until a few moments ago.... I just did a YEC to remove all 2004 data, but when I look in my Tax Schedule Report, there's still data from 2004. Specifically this data is from an "invisible" account named "Tax Impact of 401(k)Accounts." It's showing MiscExpX transactions which seem to be the deposits I made via my paycheck. These transactions show up under tax line item "W-2, Salary or wages, self." The memo field of each transaction is "Track 401(k) contributions for tax planning." And of course, the transactions are not "cleared," which is why they got left behind after the YEC.
This data doesn't show up for any years other than 2004, and of course, the corresponding transfer transactions from my checking account have been pruned. There are no uncleared transactions in my 403(b) account, and the aforementioned MiscExpX transaction amounts match the Xin transaction amounts in my 403(b) account.
I've been tracking my 403(b) since 1992, and I switched over to the
401(k) account type when it supported 403(b)s, can't remember exactly when that was. Since I'm a yearly upgrader, I presumably started out
2004 using QP2004 and ended it using QP2005. I always thought it was strange that this data showed up in the first place (only for 2004), but figured Q wasn't very good at hiding its internal methods for tracking these types of accounts (at the time). Anyway, I know these transactions aren't hurting anything by hanging around. Still, when I prune older data from my account, I want it *gone*. That it's not gone
-- and I can't make it gone -- is irking me. ;-)
After I realized this data got left behind, I copied the new file (again) and validated it. There were no validation errors, and this unwanted data is still there -- as I expected.
Any ideas on how I might purge these transactions once and for all?
Thx and Regards from Margaret the nit-picker. ;-)
