QD2012 Advanced Budget Gripe

OK, here's another annoyance (IMNSHO) in Quicken Deluxe 2012's advanced budget:

I do not use any categories in the Business Expenses, Rental Property Expenses and Rental Property Income category groups. Still, there are two mileage categories that exist in Business Expenses and Rental Property Expenses respectively: _MileageBus and _MileageRentl. (An aside: I've never used Home & Business or Rental Property Manager, but I have used Premium. Might these categories exist because of my previous use of Premium?)

Even though I've hidden these two categories, the advanced budget prominently displays sections for Business Expenses and Rental Property Expenses above the personal Expenses section that I make heavy use of. Further, Quicken does not save the collapsed state and thus displays these sections expanded! (Another aside: it sure would be nice if there were a switch to do a mass hide of the "Everything Else" line items in the advanced budget.)

I notice that in the "Select Categories to Budget" window, if I deselect "Show Hidden Categories, sections "Business Expenses," "Rental Property Expenses" and Rental Property Income" do not display in this window. Regardless, both "Business Expenses" and "Rental Property Expenses" display in the advanced budget. I suspect this display issue is due to the existence of the two _Mileage* categories that I can't delete or at least move into the Personal Expenses category group. (The "Rental Income" section does not display, because there are no categories in it.)

This is really annoying, as I make heavy use of Quicken's advanced budget.

I know it's not possible to delete categories that begin with an underscore. But does anyone have a workaround for this? I've already sent Quicken feedback on this annoyance.

John Pollard? RC White? Others? :-)

Thanks and Regards,

Margaret
