Quicken 2009 to Quicken 2011 benefits

Quicken has long past the days when there have been major under the hood changes that will put your data at risk. You do make backups and set them aside, right?

That said, quality software for the PC is going the way of the dinosaur. I used to upgrade every couple of years, but decided to do my part to convince Intuit there is a market for PC finance software worth supporting, so I bought a retail copy and had a relative do the same. In the grand scheme of things it probably won't make a difference, but still...

Moving from Q2009 to Q2011 involves more a learning "bump" than a learning "curve" for a veteran Quicken user like yourself. ;

I also do the same....I hope others do as well.

Intuit gets no money from eBay purchases....

Furthermore, after the activation fiasco a few years ago, there's nothing that prevents multiple installs from a single disk or massive disc copying for that matter.

In fact, for those who don't already know it, you are legally allowed to install Quicken on up to 3 computers for use by a single household. [see Help -> Quicken Help -> Contents tab -> Appendices -> Software License Agreement -> LICENSE GRANT AND RESTRICTIONS section (i) Single User License].

There are two additional very useful Appendices: "What's new in Quicken" and "Keyboard Shortcuts", both of which are updated for each new Quicken release.

Margaret: My theory about why 2012 is so slow for me is that a new temp index file is created each time I switch between accounts. Once an account is accessed, it's marked as already indexed, so it pops up immediately, instead of a delay of 30 seconds. Once I exit Quicken, and re-enter, that delay of 30 seconds is back. Bob

That does not match my experience with Q2011 and Q2011, both Deluxe.

My last Q2009 fileset (7 files) totaled 41 MB. The new system's single
