I'm a long time Quicken user (17 years) currently running Quicken 2005 Premier for PC Release R6. (I run it on a PowerPC iMac using Virtual PC, but don't think that's the issue in this case)
My Quicken recently started acting very strange, doing something I hadn't seen before. In one of my mutual fund accounts (Vanguard, FWIW), I sold some shares in two existing funds and bought shares in a new fund.
When I am in the summary view for this account, the new fund and its value does not always appears; it's as if I transferred that $20,000 into the void. But when I manipulate the calendar to look a few days ahead (or behind), suddenly the new fund and value appears.
To make matters more interesting, the transaction into the new fund does show up in the list of account transactions; the correct amount also show up in the left hand summary bar (it does not appear, however, when I switch to the portfolio view, however.)
Any idea what gives? I've been using Quicken 2005 for years with no problems and this is the first time I've seen it act so erractically. I've wracked my brain for options and checked various scenarios, but other than this sometimes there, sometimes not transaction, the program is working fine.
Many thanks
