Problem 1: QW2015R11 tried to update itself to R12 without asking if I wanted to apply the update.

Problem 2: They are STILL working out bugs with the Intuit ID. It should just go away. They aren't even Intuit anymore.

Problem 3: "Data File Password IMPROVED: Introducing the ability to remove a forgotten File Password from a data file by answering security questions, creating a true in-product self-help solution.".

In other words, my password is no longer protecting the data of my file. What magic questions are they planning to use as an alternate password to unlock my file under "self-help"? I hope it isn't going to be the answers to the Intuit ID questions, I have no idea what those answers are, but other people might be able to guess them.

Problem 4: "Patching REVAMPED: A modern, self-service patching infrastructure which reduces download duration and reduces the frequency of patching errors."

Please ASK ME before trying to patch software. Especially software which has access to banking information.

Overall, this patch doesn't appear useful. A useful patch would be something which restores functionality removed since QW2015R8.

Your post is a whine with virtually no evidence to support it ... of no help to anyone here.

"Problem 1: QW2015R11 tried to update itself to R12 without asking if I wanted to apply the update".

I have not seen this in any of my Quicken versions, but it is a trivial matter to overcome ... posted MANY times in the past for many previous Quicken versions.

"Problem 2: They are STILL working out bugs with the Intuit ID. It should just go away".

It won't: get used to it.

"They aren't even Intuit anymore".

So what.

"Problem 3: ... In other words, my password is no longer protecting the data of my file".

Nonsense. Your immediately subsequent comments demonstrate that your complaint is not based on any knowledge you have.

"Please ASK ME before trying to patch software."

Why are you wasting our time with this? No one here can address your wish: submit your desire to Quicken where it belongs.

Since updating to Q2015 - R12, One Step Update crashes Quicken with an error box that says "QuickenWindow has stopped working" The crash occurs after updating data from three financial institutions and just before On Line Services is processed.

I'm using Windows 10. Restarting from the Shut down or Sign out menu fails to clear the issue. However, a full shutdown of Windows and subsequent startup clear the problem.

I have a password on my file - but have not seen or played with any "questions" - Might have to poke around and see where and how they get defined ?
