I've never heard of Quicken 6.5.

I don't think any version of Quicken could import GIF files, but I think virtually all versions of Quicken can import QIF files (versions later than Q2004 make most QIF file importing a bit more difficult than earlier versions, but still doable).

If you have a very old version of Quicken and you can't see anything that Q2008 offers that's better than your very old version, I suspect that either you haven't looked very hard, or your needs are so simple that virtually any personal financial software (including the "free" ones) could handle your needs ... so stick with your old version. The only thing you'd need to worry about then is how well very old software will perform with very new hardware and operating systems, and possibly the loss of tech-support.
