Quicken for Mac

I have used Quicken for Windows/DOS since the 1980s - I am seriously considering a switch to Mac. I understand the conversion issues and have decided just to leave history behind. (I will have a Windows PC for several years that I can use to access old data, should that be required.)

As people in the Mac world know, Intuit does not come out with yearly model changes. In fact the latest Quicken for Mac is 2007 and nothing is promised prior to about February 2010.

If one looks, there are some serious complaints about Quicken for Mac

- the most recent beta got very bad feedback (at least somebody posted that - I don't know if that is true).

I am wonder is generally speaking the Quicken 2007 for Mac has a similar User Interface to Quicken for Windows 2007 (or 2006 or 2008).

Also I am concerned that the Quicken for Mac product can do the things I do in Quicken Premier for Windows -- I want to download from Banks and Brokerage houses, I want to calculate investment returns, and I want to create custom reports for spending.

I would be shocked if I could not do reports, but the UI might be different. Also since there appears to be only one product for Mac, I suppose it could be the Basic do nothing product - but I do not have a clue.

I am hoping somebody here has actually used both the Mac and Windows products and has some information.

Thank you and do have a nice day.
