[SOLVED] Copy an existing invoice?

Hi:

I use QB 2010 pro.

I have a few times when I'd like to copy an older invoice and have it come up with the next invoice number. I can't figure it out however I recall doing this with QB 2004.

Doing the copy would much easier than re-writing the invoice all over again.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Open the invoice that you want to copy. Right click anywhere on the invoice and select Duplicate. The invoice number will be incremented to the next unused invoice number.

Thank you for a solution that is way too easy, no wonder I couldn't do it myself.

You are welcome. I actually only learned of it recently on another list. When you are trying to do things in QB try and right click transactions to see what options are available. They like to hide things.

Not an option on 2006 version

They have added a lot of nice features since 2006. You might consider upgrading to 2010 or 2011.

I am working in 2007 and it has the option to memorize the transaction and the invoice. Might be the same as copy?

No Memorizing a transaction is different but it can accomplish the same thing.

Yes, this worked for us. 7/15/2020. Thank you for the heads up. Memorize then double click on transaction that you want to duplicate and it creates a new version of the original invoice under a new invoice #.
