QB 2010 pro question about saving invoices

I recently upgraded from QB 2004 pro to QB 2010 pro. Everything still works.

I'm confused about creating invoices with 2010. It seems that after I create an invoice and then print it, that QB has saved it by then. With

2004 I could create, and print, without doing a save. Naturally I did then save them after printing.

Does 2010 save an invoice when I print it? If so, is it saved before or after the printing?

Thanks,

Sardine

I know the 2003 through 2009 ask, do you want to save? before you print. Don't know about 2010, but I'd expect the same.

It does default to save when printing. Looks like it can be turned off however. Edit, preferences, general, company preferences tab uncheck the box save when printing.

Thanks everyone. It isn't so much a concern but it caused me some confusion when I clicked "save" and didn't hear the "gong" sound. I started wondering if it really saved the invoice. It did.

Now I have experimented and QB2004 prints an invoice without saving, QB2010 saves then prints. I can live with it easily now that I understand.

In the earlier versions, like 2004, you could print the invoice and not save it. There were complaints that dishonest/bad bookkeepers could print invoices and receive money without any trace in QB. As a result QB now saves the invoice prior to printing to avoid that problem.
