Quicken Home & Bus 2008 and new server

Feb 09, 2009 1 Replies

We just installed a new server in our office and have 5 different bookkeepers/accountants working on it (one at a time) We are getting rotating failures of our ability to open client files - sometimes bookkeeper 1 will be able to open John Doe's file and then the next time they go go open the file the whole program crashes. Then when someone else trys to open John Doe's file it will sometimes open and other times not - Any idea of what might be going on?

Running Q (any version) across a network has been repeatedly demonstrated to cause file corruption in a high percentage of cases.

You might want to take a look at Quickbooks (which DOES have a network version), or researching methods of keeping Q and it's files on the same machine.
