This has been happening on and off for months.
Certain scheduled transactions are correct when view under "edit", but when the transaction is entered and current dollar amount or memo information changed, the category information is lost (the tag remains).
So, for example scheduled as:
income-rent:maintenance/property:tenant
becomes when recorded:
property:tenant
I have validated the file, but no joy.
Any thoughts?
I'm not sure I fully understand what is happening here, but I'll offer a couple of thoughts.
If you are clicking Enter on the scheduled transaction, modifying fields in the resulting Edit dialog, then clicking Enter (to enter the scheduled transaction in the register: that process consistently fails to retain the changes I make on Edit dialog. The only way I know to overcome that is to either modify the scheduled transaction in Manage Bill and Income Reminders, or Enter the scheduled transaction with no changes, then modify it in the account register.
If that's not your issue, the only approach I can think of is some combination of Validate/SuperValidate and deleting/re-entering the scheduled transaction.
That is part of the problem. The other part is that the scheduled transaction gets goofed up on some occasions and stays goofed up.
