stock options with e*trade don't show up correctly

May 10, 2005 1 Replies

My company uses E*trade to manage our stock options. If I login to etrade, it shows that I'm vested with X shares, and shows their current value.

I created this acct in Quicken 05 Deluxe and told it to get information from online acct. I was able to login and such, and everything seemed to go well.

But this new acct just shows 0 balance, with nothing else in it.

Is Quicken too dumb to realize this is an option acct?

thanks.

I have the same problem. When you employer and ETRADE set up your account, you actually got two accounts. One for the 'optionslink' and one for retail. The 'optionslink' is where your employer options go. Unfortunately, this account is not available for Quicken download. The account data you do see in Quicken is for the retail account.

I was discussing this with ETRADE just yesterday, the support person indicated this might be resolved sometime this summer.

FYI, I think this situation is partly related to the fact that ETRADE bought the 'optionslink' buisness several years ago. Also, my previous employer used Smith Barney, the situation was very similiar.
