I thought that I'd get adventurous and try Taxcut instead of turbotax. As I was filling things out my taxes were already looking higher than expected. A quick look revealed that Taxcut was disallowing my increased contributions to our 401ks and adding that money back in. This is a major goink. I hope turbo tax04 wasn't the same way. I guess I better go back and check.
I also have to say that in general taxcut is just not as cleanly designed. You can't have multiple windows open and it is not consistent when updating due taxes. It also does not import data from Fidelity. I suppose Quicken paid them off so I can't really blame taxcut for that.
