When I file my taxes with TurboTax, my Federal Tax Refund is handled by "Tax Products Group (TPG), a TurboTax partner" instead of being sent E-filed directly to the Federal Government as is the case with the State Tax E-filing? They then charge you a fee and deduct it from you Refund to handle the direct deposit to your account. The State Tax refund is sent directly to you account and not thru TPG. Why is this done this way via TurboTax?

Are you sure? My TTax Deluxe came with up to 5 fed returns, one state return, and 1 fed efile. State efile was $19.99, and additional state returns were $39.99 each.
IIRC, in New York State they have to file state for free. I use HR Block, but I think that's what it said. NY state file was free.
Are you using the TurboTax Online or Desktop version? That may make a difference.

Did you by any chance take advantage of the offer where you get a 10% bonus on the the portion of the refund that you take in Amazon gift certificates? That definitely routes the refund to a partner bank that sends part to Amazon and the rest to your account. I don't remember the name of the bank.
