Uploading Quicken bank accounts

I am trying to take Quicken files saved from a facility's server and load them on to another computer that does not have access to the server.

I loaded Quicken Home and Business Premier 2005 on the new computer. I then saved the Quicken files from the server (saved on cd) to the desktop. When I clicked on the .qdf file, i got the prompt from Quicken and it set up the account with the activity from the saved file. However, I mistakenly clicked on an earlier file of the .qdf and that was what was loaded. I should have clicked on the .qdf file dated 2 weeks later.

How do I get the Quicken to update to the later dated file. I uninstalled Quicken and then reinstalled it thinking I would be able to start over. But when i started the newly installed Quicken, the old files were still there.

I was thinking that I may need to uninstall quicken and the old files from the computer to actually "start over". Will this work or is there an easier way.

It should be as simple as starting Quicken then using File/Open to open the file you want to use.

It should then remember that the next time you start Quicken.
