yet another question about QIF to OFX conversion

I have one stubborn bank card which still only offers QIF downloads. I'd like to keep this account for a variety of reasons, but I use Quicken 2006 and I am sure you all know the sad song. I searched this group and couldn't find a straightforward (read: easy) solution, so I'll risk asking.

Can you please recommend a conversion utility that will allow me to import QIF files?

I'd prefer something that brings in all possible data with very little effort on my part, so if it's not free, I can live with that. If I have to do some tweaking, I have the skills. I just don't have the time (or the desire).

Thanks!

I hate to keep replying to myself, but I (finally!) stumbled across a post which links to this page:

Wonderful!! However for some reason the transactions don't show up in my credit card account, even after changing the headers as directed and getting the prompts as indicated, as well as closing and re-opening Quicken. So I ended up importing them into a cash account and moving them, without problems. It's just a bit of a pain.

Has Quicken changed their software since this was posted, so that changing the headers on a QIF file no longer works? Or am I likely doing something wrong? I get all the way to:

"Transactions found for [my named] account. Import transactions into [my named] account?" I click "Yes", but no voila, no transactions are in my credit card account.

I don't think so, though it is possible. Q2005 and Q2006 have gotten new Releases relatively recently, though I believe they came before the article was written (though well after the original concept was known and published, and Intuit knew it was public knowledge).

I'm pretty sure I have suceeded and others have succeeded, in importing qif files directly into checking accounts since that article was written ... but I don't keep that close track of the dates of those things.

I have seen failures on occasion; the single biggest reason being some problem in the qif file ... but sometimes, I am unable to figure out what causes the problem.

I'll dig into the structure of my ccard's QIF file and see if I can ID a reason. If not, just being able to import the transactions into a cash account is a huge improvement over Nothing. Thanks very much for figuring out and publishing this work around!

Hmmmm. That is the method I use. I'm running 2006 Premier. I do check all the 'use categories' and other options in the box that opens before the import.

After the prompt, open the account. The transactions should be underneath the register, waiting to be added to the account, same as any other download.

It's still not working for me and I suspect it's the format of the QIF file from my bank card company. I haven't dug any deeper since importing it into a cash account and then moving the transactions is working, and it's not that many key strokes.
