1099 For U.S. Taxes held via a Foreign Company

If you have U.S. investments held via a foreign bank and you get the 1099 for those from a U.S. company, how do you report the dividends, interest, and capital gains. The owner's Tax Id appears on the 1099, but the name is the owner's, followed by the words "shadow account". The senders name appears as the U.S. company's name, followed by "reporting for" and the foreign bank's name.

When filling out the income tax forms should the payer be listed as the foreign bank or the U.S. company who is their agent?

The name is not a big deal. The big deal is that your total interest, dividends and cap. gains match the totals the IRS have on the information forms they received. That said, use the sender's name. Foreign banks do not issue 1099-INT, -DIV & -B forms.
