amend 1040 to include deduction for new HSA contribution?

Hi, I already filed my 1040 for 2014, then realized that I had not maximized my HSA contribution yet. I assume I can make the contribution and then file an amended 1040 to claim the deduction (probably even before April 15). However, I just read this on my HSA fiduciary's website.

"Can I still contribute for 2014? You can make contributions through Apr. 15, 2015, or the time you file your return, whichever comes first."

I have not been able to verify this on the IRS website or anywhere else. Does anyone have a definitive answer on this (or even a strong hunch)?

Thanks, Pedro

A little googlage finds IRS Pub 969 which says the deadline is April 15:

Thanks, that's all I was able to find as well...simple deadline of April 15, 2015. I have not found anywhere else that says (or even suggests) that the deadline for HSA contributions is cut short if taxes are filed earlier than April 15.
