help,,

i have a client that is a new business, focusing on estate dispersal, meaning they come in after the death of a loved one, and help familys handle the inventory and clearing out of the household contents, sell, donate etc, clean the house and if needed get ready to put on the market. mostly for families out of town and cant be local to handle this task.

i am trying to research if they are taxable for nys sale tax, and i am not sure what business code this would be under, as it is quit unique.

any suggestions????

You have to look at how NYS defines services subject to sales tax. It may be that some of the services may be subject and others exempt.

that is what i am having a problem finding, mostly it is just hawling crap out of homes, cleaning homes, staging for sale, holding tag or garage sales, dropping thing off to donation, and mailing items to family members.
