Alias Code

I currently use Mfg code as Item lookup code. Consequently, the code often is alpha-numeric. When our inventory team performs inventory themanually key in the codes. The majority of items DO come with a UPC. Hence,

  1. Is it posible to have item UPC as alias code?
  2. If so, can this code be scanned by inventory

  1. Yes, any number or code can be an alias. Just enter the UPC off the package as an alias and you're set. You can have an unlimited number of alias's for an item as long as you don't try to duplicate a code. Also, you can't have a number as a ILC for 1 item and as an alias for another. Each code has to be unique. If you print barcodes for your items remember that only the ILC will print as a barcode.
  2. Yes, if you put the UPC in as an alias when that UPC is scanned it will be entered wherever you are working, POS or inventory. Craig
