Domestic Production Activites Deduction

Domestic Production Activites Deduction

Does this apply to schedule C general contractors who build residential and buisness properties? How about Engineers and architects that are employees of firms that construct these properties? How about engineers and architects that design for outside construction firms? Thanks

Yes, no and yes. In that order.

The employees themselves don't get the credit. The business does. So the self-employed business, the partnerships, the corporations, etc would be eligible for the credit. It passes through to partners and "S" shareholders. An employee of any construction or engineering related business would not get the credit based on them being an employee.
