FORGOT a few tax forms when filing

I sent in my 1040 form, Sked A created by Turbotax but didn't even think about Sked b, d, etc. Turbotax showed a file electronically or file by mail and I selected file by mail and it only printed the 1040 and sked a. What do I need to do from here. I did send a check in with the return. TIA

Is there a reason you think there should be a Sched B and D sent in with the return? Tax programs are generally pretty good about not printing out unneeded forms.

For example, if your interest and dividends were each less than $1500, no Sched B is needed. If your only capital gains were mutual fund capital gain distributions, no Sched D is needed, etc.

TT normally prints out all the forms you filled out and need to submit. Are you sure you had data in those other schedules? For instance, if you didn't sell any securities, there may not be anything in Schedule D, so you don't need to submit it. On the other hand, almost everyone needs to submit Schedule B, since they probably have some interest income from their bank.

Wait. If IRS is missing anything they need, they'll be in touch.

Another good reason to e-file. Just sit on them and wait to hear from someone. You may never hear from anyone. Missy Doyle

let's assume the 1040 form you refer to is your 2005 federal income tax return best thing to do might be to wait for the irs to contact you by letter and ask for the schedules or you could file the entire return again by april 17 2006, including the previuosly unfiled schedules, and mark each page "Possible Duplicate Return", but this might cause more confusion, since they will probably notice the schedules missing when they process your incomplete return, and contact you then, ASSUMING the unfiled schedules you mention were required to be filed

Soon, you will receive a letter seeking the missing schedules, send them in when you receive the letter.
