TTax Premiere - State forms vs e-filing

Just curious - as I had to upgrade to Premiere this year... having never used any of the State filing features, and this year - for our son - require State filing for Wisc and Calif.

Since we usually just use the State's online forms, and fill them out manually -

can I within TTax Premiere select ANY State to create the forms, and then merely print them and mail them, without e-filing - AND then pick a different State, and repeat the printing ? Not sure where the "1-State filing" limit is actually triggered ?

You only get one state, and it's triggered when you select the state to start the process. It doesn't even have any state forms and rules loaded until you select one.

got it - never used the State.... always used BASIC which had all the forms I needed, until this year - of course - and had to migrate up... Basic --> Deluxe --> Premiere (which came with a State filing)

Yes

Yes, only one state is included in the price but you'll be asked if you need to purchase additional states at $39.99 each.

You can buy as many as you need BUT many states offer online forms, you might want to select your free one after you've found which online state forms are the easiest and only download the most complex one and manually fill in and file the others....

I don't think this is strictly true. I haven't started any state returns yet, but when my TTax updates, it says it is getting updates for HI, CA, and MD, the three states I have used in the past (and I assume when I transferred 2013's return TTax picked up on that.) Of course, I can only directly access one state and have to pay to unlock the others. In the past there was a downloadable that you could get from your online account. Don't know if that option is available for 2014.
