Good news from IRS

Dec 27, 2007 1 Replies

For those you may be affected, you'll be glad to know that tax filing season will start on schedule January 11th.

IRS just announced this but also cautions that certain forms impacted by AMT reprogramming will not be able to be accepted. The main one that may impact early filers is the 2441.

Now then, didn't that just make your day?

The weird thing is that the list of impacted forms does NOT include the

2441, but only mentions Schedule 2, which is the 2441 equivalent used on a 1040A return.

Also note that the AMT form (6251) is apparently not impacted by the AMT patch to any significant degree.
