H&R Block Software CA state, Dependents with earned & unearned income warning.

Just a note that when I was doing my son's tax return, the H&R Block software seemed to incorrectly calculate the standard deduction for the California state return.

For the case of a dependent student with earned and unearned income, instead of + $350, the program used + $300.

If you are in this situation, you may need to override that value in the program.

I reported this to H&R block, but it isn't clear if there will be any software updates for their California state tax software.

+$350 was more than $1000 and less than the regular standard deduction for a single filer.
