H & R Block tax software question

Mar 04, 2013 2 Replies

While installing this, my sister ran into a question about installing "AT HOME CONNECT". There was nothing on the box that told her what that was, and all I could find online was that it was part of the software, but not what it's functionality is.

The Block software is actually called H & R At HOME.... She has a CD for the Deluxe version. My instincts were that if it were necessary, she could install it later, but I suspected it was a either a resident progam that constantly checked for updates, or possibly something to allow tech support to dial in to help you. There are lots of online questions about what this software is, but no answers. Anyone have one? She bypassed the install for it and her tax program starts as one would expect.

Thanks

According to the H&R Block web site, that service is used to check for software updates. I would strongly recommend that she install it so that she can get updated forms and code that reflects updated regulations.

Thank you very much. I tried to find the answer on their website and couldn't. I'll make sure she either installs it or updates manually frequently.
