Medical Deduction Statistics ?

Feb 07, 2017 4 Replies

Hello,

I looked, really, but just cannot find the statistics I am interested in.

The IRS page doesn't have it broken out, individually, which is what I'm after. Probably somewhere, but can't locate where.

What I would like to find for the latest year they have it (2014 ?) is the "typical" medical deduction claimed as a function of perhaps AGI.

Might anyone please point me to a Link that has it ?

Much thanks, Bob

The IRS may not release that kind of information. They have statistics, of course, and they use them for audit purposes. They don't release that kind of information to keep people guessing - and hopefully more honest.

You didn't look hard enough. Start here:

You can search through lots of data tables to find what you want, though you may have to do some additional calculations to covert the data to the form you want.
