Sec 462(g) Election Filed With 1041/Filed Separately

I am deducting administrative expenses on Form 1041 for an estate. Apparently, the election under Sec 462 (g) is necessary to do this, even when no form 706 is required/filed.

My program has two input options for this situation. One option is to print the election with no signature block (for fiduciary?s signature and date, the other is to print the election with signature block.

Why would the program give me a choice between providing/not providing a signature block on this election? I know the election can be filed separately from Form 1041, and I suspect no signature block is necessary when the election is attached to Form 1041, which would mean the program is contemplating the possibility the preparer is filing the election separately in asking if a signature block is to be printed.
