site to list historical prices for many securities

I am an executor of an estate and our attorney has asked that I provide the value of the securities at dod as well as 6 months later. (this will be used for estate taxes) This of course can easily be obtained from many sites giving the closing price for each security one at a time. I would like to list these on one sheet as a portfolio and have the site them value this portfolio. Is there such a site? Thanks Liz

While there are professional services that can do this for you, it isn't as simple as you might think. The valuation price is the average of the high and low price for the day, not the closing price. Should the date of death (or alternative valuation date) fall on a weekend, you have to prorate the price between the appropriate valuation prices on the closest dates either side of the target date. See the instructions for Form 706 for more details.

If I had to do this, I'd download historical security prices in Quicken, then print a report of some kind.

I like Estate Valuation & Pricing Systems, Inc. aka Estateval. It is the service the IRS uses or at least they used to use it. The web site is:

Their pricing is provided on the site, usually $1.55 per CUSIP. You have to provide the CUSIPs. Try this site for CUSIPs:

Itis free :).
