If his income is less than $52,000 you can find a free on-line provider for his Federal tax return here:

The form is called 1040EZ for a reason -- it's easy to fill out and file. Just have to read the instructions, which are on the back. Alteernately, take the information you have, with the W-2 form (not W4) to a local TaxAide/AARP or VITA site (check with your local volunteer center or AARP office) and they will fill it out and efile it for free. Your son needs to be present to sign the efile form.
