Can anyone recommend software packages that will look at a particular set of tax inputs (W-2 income, schedule K-1, capital gains, deductions, etc) that will then make recommendations for additional tax planning the tax payer can undertake? For example, based on the particulars of a given taxpayer, they might be eligible for additional IRA contributions, and the software could actively make those recommendations. A given taxpayer might have high income but no owned real estate, and the software could recommend purchasing a home and show tax effects of using that home as a rental or as primary residence.
