Tax Return Rejected by IRS due to unmatched e-Pin number!!

Last year, myself and my wife jointly filed tax return via mail. She didn?t have social security number at that time so we used her tax id number. This year she has a social security number. I have been trying to e-file our joint return. It has been rejected by IRS twice. The reason is that my wife?s electronic pin number doesn?t match with the one IRS has on record. When obtaining an electronic pin from IRS, We used her tax id, date of birth and prior year?s tax filing status.

Can anyone advise as to how to proceed on this. I don?t want to file by mail. How can I get IRS to accept our tax returns?

Have you tried both her old and new tax id numbers?

Have you tried getting a new pin?
