TaxAct question

I live in MA, and am a first-time user of the TaxAct program. Does anyone know where to put the car excise taxes? I used Turbo Tax last year, and this aspect was easy. I can't locate it on TaxAct.

Thanks.

I haven't used TaxACT for several years, but did you try bringing up Sched A in the program, going to the "Taxes You Paid" section of it and entering the excise tax in the property tax (as in personal property tax, not real estate tax) section of it? Or if that is a calculated field, seeing what it is linked from and entering it there?

(To non-MA people, the "excise tax" the OP refers to is an ad valorem personal property tax.)

If you're talking about a recurring annual tax, line 8 of Schedule A. If you're talking about the 2009-only deduction for sales/excise tax on a new vehicle, there's a worksheet which you can reach by clicking on line 7 of Schedule A, then clicking on the folder icon.
