First time user of Quickbook 2009

Hello, I just purchased QuickBook 2009 for the first time.

I have some questions that I would appreciate knowing:

1) First entry... I purchased some business card that cost me $99 + tax. using my Credit Card.

I live in Quebec, Canada, and the total is the following:

Cards $99.00 TPS (5%) $4.95 TVQ (7.5%) $7.80 (7.5% of $99 + $4.95) Total $111.75

I would like to enter these figures, but somehow I only have the 5% Federal Tax but not the Quebec Provicial Tax ? I did find it somewhere but it listed at 8% not 7.5%.

How can I enter the exact number as I have on my Bill ?

Thanking you in advance

Are you required to track and/or report sales taxes paid on purchases? The US version of QuickBooks is designed to track, report and pay sales taxes charged to customers.

If there is no reporting need to track, etc your taxes paid then just enter the $111.75 as your business card purchase. No itemized detail might be necessary.
