Turbotax have place where any estimated taxes already paid for the year are entered

I am doing the taxes this year and I noticed that Turbotax Online does not seem to have any place to enter the estimated taxes already I paid. Figured since I paid estimated taxes this past year that it would ask me what I have already paid and then it would deduct it from Turbotaxes final figures. How am I supposed to count what I already paid them against what I am entering into Turbotax now. Seems like I would be overpaying.

Example: Say I've paid $3000 in Federal estimated taxes for the year. Now I do my taxes for years end in Turbotax. Once I've completed my entries into Turbotax, it says I owe $6000 in Federal. Since Turbotax does not seem to have a are that asks me to enter my already paid estimated taxes aren't I basically then paying $9000 in taxes total when I should only owe $3000. I thought it would calculate the $6000 then deduct the already paid estimated from that thus only showing me owing $3000. What am I missing here.

Thanks Adam

I've never use that software, so this may not work. Go to line 65 of the

1040 and right-click. That should give you access to the input form for your estimated tax payments.

While that would work for the downloaded version of the software, I suspect from using similar products that the on-line version does not support this type of form-based drill-down. However, I'd be surprised if it isn't in there somewhere... have you tried the on-line help?

The good news is, eventually you will get the overpayment if any returned to you, I think the IRS is pretty good about that.

Under the "Federal Taxes" tab, click on "Topic List" and scroll down until you see "Estimated Taxes Already Paid" (a little more than half way).

Probably, there's a way you can get there just by stepping through the interview from the beginning, but I'm not sure of the exact sequence.

In general, it's a good idea to scan through the Topic List carefully to make sure nothing has been overlooked.

Click the Federal Taxes tab near the top of the TurboTax screen, then click Deductions & Credits. Click the blue button for Find Deductions Myself. In the list of topics, open the list for Taxes Paid. Click the Start or Revisit button for Estimated Taxes.
