I have filed W2/W3 for my small company. I noticed before filing W2 on Maryland state site that amount on Box 16 is wrong in W2. SSA site will not let me correct this by doing W2C as all other federal amounts are correct. How will I correct only state wages on box W2/W3. I guess federal should not care as federal amounts are correctly reported. How to correct state wages on W2? I have still not reported W2's to Maryland, can I just report correct amount tho them as per SSA site I do not need to do w2c, but in that case hard copy of W2 is wrong on state wages amount.

IRS Instructions for the W-2C
Boxes 15 through 20?State/local taxes. If your only changes to the original Form W-2 are to state or local data, do not send Copy A of Form W-2c to the SSA. Instead, send Form W-2c to the appropriate state or local agency and furnish copies to your employees.
So... just issue the W-2C for the employee and send that data to MD.
